改革开放初期，罗心刚（杨在葆 饰）在广交会上发现本厂生产的凤凰牌产品无人问津，而本厂文革中遭冷遇的设计师申华（刘信义 饰）设计的产品却成了畅销货。罗心刚深受启发，他三顾茅庐请已被迫离厂的申华出山，同时纠正以前人们戴有色眼镜看人的错误观念。他决心走市场化道路，转变过去“皇帝女儿不愁嫁”的传统思想。罗的行动遭到传统势力的阻挠，别人认为他的行为背离了社会主义市场经济原则，面对种种困难，罗心刚始终坚持自已的信念。当看到共青团员巧珍（殷新 饰）因缺乏信仰脖子上带上十字架，他深感十年动乱在青年一代身上造成的信仰危机。改革是多方面的，且刻不容缓。在他人造谣告状，不得已面临下台的千人大会上，罗心刚说出了那段泣血的台词......
Oliviero is a burned-out writer, living at his estate near Venice, his dead mother dominating his imagination. You're unlikely to see many better performances this year than Amanda Fuller's mesmerising turn as April, a 30-something whose self-image and perception of life is determined by the vintage clothes she wears and sells at a funky emporium in Austin, Texas with husband Eric (Freak Me Out favourite Ethan Embry; The Devil's Candy, SFF 2016; Cheap Thrills, SFF 2013). When Eric strays, a devastated April meets Randall, a smooth-talker with a predilection for strange sexual games. That's just the start of this dazzlingly filmed and superbly edited journey into real and imagined worlds. A killer soundtrack rounds out the best film yet by genre-mashing British ace Simon Rumley (The Living and the Dead).
In this '60s retro prequel to the bizarro-noir Bloodsucker's Handbook (AKA Enchiridion), Bloodsucker's Planet follows the crew of the space ship Argosy as they respond to a distress signal from the industrial Planet Mara only to discover the planet is ruled by the sinister Mother Vampire. Along the way, they encounter disease-carrying Mara bats, a talking space roach, and Adrianna, the gynoid whose developing self-awareness is aided by her collection of vintage romance comics.
Chosen Family sees Ann, a yoga teacher trying to find inner peace despite the fact her family is manic, and whose dating life is miserable. Ann doesn’t know how to say no and finds herself fixing everyone’s problems. Struggling to repair her estranged relationship with her sister Clio, Ann relies on her friends Roz, Max and Frances to be her rock and guide her through life’s troubling decisions.
Nour makes a living from smuggling exotic animals and illicit products (birds of prey, venom, rare roots, etc.). Wishing to get her son out of the city and offer him a better future, she designs and develops a mobile app that connects clients and marabouts. It’s a success, but a patient’s consultation turns into a tragedy and Nour has to face a wave of violence that could cost her and her son their lives.
