In a small town located in the island of Mallorca, Anna and Marina, two sisters who were separated when they were teenagers, meet again to sell a bakery they’ve inherited from a mysterious woman they know nothing about. The two sisters have led very different lives. Anna has barely left the island and is unhappily married to a man she no longer loves. Marina travels the world working as a doctor for an NGO. As the sisters try to uncover the secrets hidden behind their enigmatic benefactor and her property, they are forced to confront old family disputes and make up for lost time.
A film written and directed by Antonio Giménez Rico, it follows a sextet of drag queens as they ply their trade on the streets and nightclubs of Madrid. There’s a graphic scene of one getting breast implants, and a touching scene of one visiting his parents in drag for a traditional Sunday dinner.
In her first onscreen adventure, journalist/photographer Mae Jordan (known to her readers as "Emanuelle") travels to Africa on assignment. Questions of her own racial and sexual identity come to a head as she observes the troubled marriage of her hosts, Ann and Gianni Danieli. Matters are complicated further when Emanuelle finds herself in affairs with both of them, after which she flees Africa, only to be persued by Gianni, who had earlier rejected her and ridiculed her advances.
